Kamala Harris Emphasizes US Will Not Send Troops To Israel Or Gaza

JAKARTA - United States Vice President Kamala Harris said Washington had no plans or plans to send troops to Israel or Gaza.

"We have absolutely no intention of sending combat troops to Israel or Gaza, period," Harris said in an interview with CBS News.

Harris stressed the importance of complying with war rules in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and continuing the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

"A terrorist organization, Hamas, slaughtered hundreds of young people at a concert. At least 1,400 Israelis were killed. Israel, without any doubt, has the right to defend itself," Harris said.

"Hamas and Palestine should not be equated," he said, adding the Palestinian people deserve equal treatment in obtaining safety and security.

Harris also urged Iran to stay away from the conflict.

Israel launched a massive attack on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas into Israeli territory on October 7.

More than 9,500 people, including 8,500 Palestinians, were killed in this conflict. Most of the victims were children and women.

Meanwhile, Israel lost 1,538 human lives.

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Allahhi on Saturday, October 28 announced Israeli troops were expanding his operations by shifting to "the next stage of the war against Hamas", including ground operations.

Gaza, which is inhabited by 2.2 million citizens, is currently facing a food, water, fuel and medicine crisis due to the Israeli siege of the Palestinian enclave.
