The Lampung Bakung TPA Fire Will Be Set As An Emergency Response
BANDAR LAMPUNG - Lampung Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said that there would be an emergency response for the Bakung Final Disposal Site (TPA) fire incident.
"Currently, a report from the Bandarlampung City BPBD regarding the fire incident at TPA Bakung has been submitted to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB)," said Secretary of BPBD Lampung Province, Indra Utama, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 16.
He said there would be an emergency response status determination for 14 days due to the incident.
"The determination of the emergency response status for 14 days starts from October 13-26, and this is still in process," he said.
Based on the development of the incident until Sunday (15/10) at 20.58 WIB. There are still no casualties so that the handling of refugees and protection, search and rescue has not been carried out.
"Based on existing data, the land area of the Bakung TPA that experienced the fire reached approximately 4 hectares," he said.
Based on the latest condition of approximately the total land area of the Bakung 14 hectare TPA with a burning area of approximately 4 hectares, until now the fire has not been extinguished and the burned area is expanding.
"Then there is also a condition where breathing is disturbed in the surrounding area. As for economic losses until now there has not been any," he continued.

According to him, the urgent need that is needed if conditions have not changed is by extinguishing the fire with a water bombing aircraft.
"In addition to extinguishing the fire with water bombing aircraft, there will also be additional logistical assistance requests. Until now, the Bandarlampung City BPBD and related agencies are still extinguishing it," he said.
He explained that the cause of the fire incident at the Bakung TPA was still not receiving further information.
"The cause of the Bakung TPA fire, we still have not received further information," he added.
It is known that the chronology of the fire at the end of the most populous waste disposal site in Lampung Province on Tulung Buyut Street, Teluk Betung Barat District (TBB) occurred on Friday (13/10) at 17.50 WIB.
The beginning of the burned area point was in the middle position of the TPA, and now it continues to spread until the last burned land area reaches 4 hectares and causes thick smoke that pollutes the surrounding air.
