Hadson Releases First Full Album Titled Animal Matters
JAKARTA - Continuing the three singles that have been released this year, an alternative rock unit from Bogor, Hadson, comes with the first full album titled Animal Matters.
Meanwhile, the process of cultivating Animal Matters has started four years ago. Since the beginning of its formation, Rizky Djaling (vocals, guitars), Reza Septianto (guitar), Rega Zulkarnain (drums), and Fitra Qodri (bass) have collected materials and executed them one by one.
The process of working on this album is not without obstacles. There are differences of opinion between personnel. However, this actually makes them more synergized.
"But after going through the process of unifying the vision and mission, Alhamdulillah, we were able to get through this phase (difference of opinion)," said Fitra Qodri in his statement, Friday, October 13.
"Our difficulty in building a new band is to find people who support our band, and who are able to synergize with us," he continued.
The lyrics of the songs presented are one of the mainstay weapons in this album. The nuances of alternative rock music in the 1990s remained good to enjoy with the lyrics made.
"Our music references are different. We were inspired by Radiohead, Foo Fighters, The Rasmus, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Vamp, Incubus, and Silverchair. The common threads were songs that accompanied us in the 90s, during the alternative rock era on MTV," said Reza Septianto.
The lyrics of the songs in Animal Matters contain messages about how Hadson sees the side of other people's lives. They convey a message of manners in life, a struggle in hitting the trials of life, and never giving up.
From what the last four years have gone through, Hadson's personnel claim to have learned valuable lessons about how to understand all forms of the song selection process, learn about holding back and pressing egos, and understand each other.
"In fact, not just listening to it, people have to read the lyrics, because we are all facing serious problems with the manner. Bejat even! A country can progress, especially because of the manner. And music is one of the funnels that can impact human intelligence," said Rizky Djaling.
Hadson believes that music listeners in the country are obliged to listen to the Animal Matters album. Not only nostalgia with songs in the 90-2000s era, but also those who face life pressure.
