Amazon Workers In England Ready To Strike On Black Friday Day
JAKARTA - More than 1,000 workers in the Amazon warehouse in the UK will strike for another four days next month. According to the GMB union on Tuesday, October 10, this strike includes the usually busy Black Friday shopping day.
GMB said workers would strike the site in Coventry, Central England, from November 7 to 9, as well as on November 24, Black Friday, in a protracted dispute over wages that has resulted in several strikes so far this year.
In response to a request for comment, Amazon UK's State Manager, John Boumphrey, said the company offers competitive wages and benefits.

The strike of Amazon workers in the UK could have some impact on the company, although the impact will depend on how big and how long the strike lasts. Some of the possible impacts are:
Operational disorders: Strikes can disrupt daily operations of Amazon's warehouse, especially if the number of workers involved is large enough. This could result in delays in shipping goods to customers and order processing.
Loss of Revenue: If the strike lasts for several days, Amazon could suffer a significant loss of revenue due to a decline in sales during that period, especially on Black Friday, which is usually busy.
Company reputation: Strikes can damage the company's reputation if customers think Amazon can't solve problems with its work. It can also affect customer perceptions of the company's policies regarding wages and working conditions.
Fee increases: Amazon may need to spend additional costs to tackle strikes, such as paying additional to workers replacing strike workers, or to negotiate with unions.
Increased Labor Awareness: Strikes could raise awareness of wage issues and working conditions at Amazon, and encourage companies to consider changes in their policies.
Potential Deal: Strikes could prompt Amazon to further negotiate with unions to reach a deal that benefits both sides.
In the long term, the impact of the strike depends on how successful and sustainable the strike is, and to what extent Amazon is willing to respond to workers' demands. Strikes are often a means for workers to voice their demands and encourage companies to make changes.
