Laundry Gas Cylinder Explodes, 4 Permanent Buildings In Tanah Abang Burnt
JAKARTA - Residents' settlement on Jalan Kebon Pala III, RW 13, Kebon Melati Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, was hit by a red rooster on Tuesday, October 10. The number of semi-permanent buildings causes the fire to be difficult to extinguish and continues to grow.
"The fire was caused by an explosion of gas cylinders, then the fire spread to a number of houses and grew," said Head of Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Asril Rizal when confirmed, Tuesday, October 10.
A total of 14 fire engines were deployed to the fire site. The fire was only extinguished on Tuesday afternoon by 56 personnel who continued to struggle to extinguish the fire.
Tanah Abang sub-district head Dicky Suherlan confirmed the fire incident that hit his area.
"In total there are 4 permanent buildings that were affected by the fire. Temporary suspicions of airing equipment or machines," he said.

Meanwhile, according to residents, the flames were caused by an explosion of gas cylinders that caused sparks and major fires.
"It is suspected that it came from the explosion of a gas cylinder for a laundry. Then it spread to the right and left of the surrounding building," said one resident.
Residents also reported to firefighters for the fire extinguishing process. There were no casualties as a result of the fire incident.
