Regarding Gibran's Proposal To Be Prabowo's Assistant, PAN: We Are Godok With The Advanced Indonesia Coalition
JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of PAN Eddy Soeparno said his party respects the proposal for Surakarta Mayor (Walkot) Gibran Rakabuming Raka to become Prabowo Subianto's partner in the 2024 presidential election. The proposal came from volunteers from Jokowi's Young Ulema Solidarity (Samawi).
"We will discuss the proposals together in the general chairman forum for the Indonesia Maju Coalition party," said Eddy when contacted in Jakarta, Sunday, October 8, which was confiscated by Antara.
PAN is one of the parties that are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), apart from the Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, Democratic Party, Gelora Party, PBB and Garuda Party.
KIM carries the General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 presidential election.
Eddy said Prabowo and other party leaders had agreed to form the forum as a means of discussing to determine the vice presidential companion for Prabowo.
"The forum decision is expected in the form of unanimous consensus deliberation results," he said.
In addition, he also said that PAN positively welcomed Samawi's support for Prabowo.
"We respond to various support from all elements of the wider community to Pak Prabowo as a positive thing," said Eddy.

According to him, this support indicates that Prabowo is really the people's choice to lead Indonesia for the next 5 years.
On the evening of Saturday 7 October, the management and members of Samawi declared their support for Prabowo Subianto and conveyed their recommendations for the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as a candidate for Prabowo.
According to the KPU schedule, registration for presidential and vice presidential candidates will start from October 19, 2023 to November 25, 2023.
In Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu) it is stated that pairs of presidential/vice-presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous election for members of the DPR.
Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that the presidential/vice-presidential candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It could also be that the candidate pairs are promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
