The Release Of 'The Creator' In Indonesia Collaborates With Indonesian Celebrities With High-Technological Photoshoots
JAKARTA - 20th Century Studios, New Regency, and Entertainment One presents the latest sci-fi film The Creator at the end of September. Directed by Gareth Edwards who also directed Star Wars: ROGUE ONE, The Creator stars John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Madeleine Yuna Voyles, andpriya Janney.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential that could be a benefit or a danger to mankind, has become one of the most hot topics debated today, the center of the story of The Creator, which takes on a future background with AI already dominating the world.
Director/co-writer Gareth Edwards stated that the launch of the film was deliberately launched in accordance with the issue related to AI itself being discussed. The question about AI itself has finally become an inspiration for him to make this a film.
"The timing of the release of this film is special. Even though we have developed this film for years, this film was released at a very interesting time. Our world is faced with various issues and questions that we want to discuss through this film, such as the meaning of being human, whether AI can have awareness, and differences in ethics between AI and humans. In my opinion, exploration of these questions is the most important contribution that scientific fiction can give." Gareth Edwards said in a statement from the media received by VOI, Thursday, September 28.
To realize the director's vision to the big screen, the production team traveled to 80 different locations in eight different countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal, Japan, Indonesia, England (outside Pinewood Studios London), and the US (in Los Angeles).
This is done so that the location of the selected story is, Asia in the future still has an authentic side of various Asian countries.
Producer Jim Spencer said, "Gareth is determined to embrace local talents (both players and crew) as much as possible."
Several elements from Indonesia are also clearly visible in The Creator'. Like some songs from rock bands from the 70s from Indonesia Golden Wing which can be heard in this film.
These songs, entitled Greet Holy', Hanny, and Day Your Majesty accompany the audience to get deeper into the adventures of AIs and humans in fighting for their existence.
To celebrate the release of The Creator in Indonesia, Disney Indonesia collaborates with local talents so that fans feel closer to the characters and stories of this film.
