Residents' Houses In Petamburan Inundated Due To Leaking Pipes, PAM Jaya Still Has Not Found A Leak Point
JAKARTA - Residents' settlements in Petamburan Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta were flooded due to a 900-millimeter pipe leak located in Petamburan 4 owned by Perumda PAM Jaya. This puddle has hit since a few days ago.
Senior Manager of Corporate Communication and Office Director of PAM Jaya Gatra Vaganza admitted that his party has yet to find a leak point.
"Until now, PAM JAYA is still in the stage of ensuring the position of the leak point," said Gatra in his statement, Friday, September 22.
Gatra explained that the leaking pipe in Petamburan is the main pipe with high water supply. Thus, this reduces the intensity of clean water distributed to PAM Jaya customers.
The areas where the water supply is reduced and stopped due to pipe leaks include Karet Semanggi, Karet, Setiabudi, Karet Tengsin, Bendungan Hilir, Karang Anyar, Kartini, Mangga Dua Selatan, Petamburan, Slipi, Kota Bambu, Jatipulo, Grogol, North Petojo, Duri Pulo, South Petojo.

This disruption of water supply also hit Gambir, Cikini, Menteng, Kebon Sirih, Jatipulo, Cideng, Petamburan, Kebon Melati, Kampung Bali, Penjaringan, Pekojan, Roa Malaka, Ancol, Pinangsia, northern Mangga Dua, Angke, Jembatan Lima, Tambora, Glodok, Kelagungan, Tanah Sereal, North Duri, Krukut, Duri Selatan, Grogol.
"PAM JAYA urges customers to anticipate by accommodating water for supplies as long as supplies are disrupted," said Gatra.
Temporary solution, PAM Jaya will send clean water using tank trucks which will be distributed free of charge for affected areas during the repair of the work. The main locations for the distribution of these tanker trucks are for hospitals, places of worship, social institutions, and others.
"PAM Jaya also coordinates with the sub-districts, sub-districts, firefighters, willingness to launch, and PLN in the local area as well as BPBD in overcoming this problem," he said.
