Cyber Threat Targets MSMEs, How To Prevent It?

JAKARTA - In the first quarter of 2023, Kaspersky managed to detect 839 malware attacks targeting MSMEs, an increase of 123.73 percent compared to the same period last year of 375.

In the same period, the global cybersecurity company has also blocked as many as 11,969 malicious files targeting the MSME sector, an increase of 83.18 percent compared to 6,534 attacks in the first quarter of 2022.

"It is important for business owners, as a first step, to map the challenges or disturbances they face regarding cybersecurity," said Yeo Siang Tiong, General Manager of Southeast Asia in Kaspersky in a statement received in Jakarta.

Yeo also noted that it is important for MSME players to establish employee and operational control policies and gain an in-depth understanding of what can be done, both independently and collaboratively.
