Police Arrest Robbery Gang 14 Locations In Denpasar, 2 Perpetrators Shot

DENPASAR - South Denpasar Police, Bali, arrested two perpetrators of a motorcycle theft syndicate (curanmor) that acted in Denpasar and Badung.

Two of the perpetrators arrested by Didik Hermawan and Teopelus Dawa Lowu (22). The two perpetrators were shot in the leg for resisting arrest. Apart from the two police perpetrators, they also arrested two stolen motorbikes named Agung Supriyanto (30) and Erfan Priyanto (30).

"All of the crime scenes are in the South Denpasar, West Denpasar and in Kuta," said Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Bambang Yugo Pamungkas, Friday, September 15.

The disclosure of this gang action, when the police received reports from people who lost their motorbikes at the boarding house on Jalan Tukad Balian, South Denpasar.

In the arrest process, police caught two suspicious people pushing a motorbike at Sidakarya, Denpasar.

When stopped, one person used a motorbike to escape. Meanwhile, Teopelus for fighting the officers, was shot.

"The suspect admitted that the vehicle was stolen with his friend (Mias) who had fled," he added.

From here the police carried out the development and arrest of other perpetrators.

"They are one network. So there are those who are tasked with taking motorbikes, there are also collectors who sell them through marketplaces on social media, all of this is brained (edik) who have been jailed twice for stealing in 2019 and 2020," he said.

This gang took action at 14 crime scenes in the Denpasar and Kuta cities. There were six vehicles secured as evidence
