Muamalat Aims For The Education Sector To Expand Sharia Financial Literacy
JAKARTA PT Bank Muamalat Tbk. through the Muamalat Institute, it is said that they continue to strive to increase the Islamic financial literacy and inclusion index in society. Most recently, Muamalat directed strategies by directing focus on the education sector.
Muamalat Institute Executive Director Anton Hendrianto said his party was collaborating with the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS) and several other relevant agencies to make this agenda a success.
"Education in Indonesia contains elements of knowledge, skills (skills), and behavior (attitude) that are integrated in student creativity and personality. This requires that quality improvement in the field of education must always be fostered to encourage increased motivation for student achievement in the academic field and help improve the Islamic financial literacy and inclusion index," he said in a written statement quoted on Thursday, September 7.
According to Anton, his party wants to hone students' ability to think quickly and accurately regarding Islamic financial topics, including Islamic banking, Islamic capital markets, the Islamic non-bank financial industry (IKNB) and others.
"The success of various industries including the Islamic finance industry lies in the quality of human resources (HR)," he said.

On the same occasion, Head of the KNEKS HR Development Division, Mohamad Soleh Nurzaman, said that industry players must be able to bring trust and comfort with Islamic financial products and services.
"Therefore, education and socialization about Islamic financial values and benefits are the keys to achieving sustainable growth," he said.
Meanwhile, Muamalat himself specifically held the Muamalat Institute of Interactive Quis (Mikir) program as an event to increase the Islamic financial literacy and inclusion index among young people. The agenda is implemented in 23 provinces throughout Indonesia.
In addition, Muamalat also runs the Sharia Financial Literacy Movement (Geulis) to be able to assist the community in increasing knowledge and capability regarding Islamic finance.
