Jikustik Invites Deaf Friends Community To Be Able To Enjoy Music
JAKARTA - Jikustik created the #MusicFor All campaign to provide inclusive space for all music lovers in Indonesia. This campaign was initiated in conjunction with the re-release of the song Aku Tak Mau Sendiri which was popularized by Bunga Citra Lestari in 2006.
In his campaign, Jikust collaborated with the deaf friends community to participate in enjoying a new version of I Don't Want to be Alone.
Not without reason, Adhitya Bagaskara, Jikustik keyboardist believes that music as a work of art should be enjoyed by all people.
"We hope that every work of art can be felt by all circles of society, and ensure that everyone can have the opportunity to access works of art," said Adhitya Bagaskara in an official statement received by VOI, Monday, September 4.
This collaboration is also expected to make the wider community more supportive of the deaf community.
"In addition to giving space to the deaf friends community to both be able to enjoy the latest songs, Jikustic also invites the public broadly to support the deaf friends community through the movement by wearing the #MusicFor All" bracelet, said Ayunda Kusmiya Putri as the Mentor and Tuli Sign Language Expert.
Through this campaign, Jikustik hopes to strengthen the purpose of the artwork itself to give meaning to its connoisseurs.
Although the collaboration of musicians with the deaf friends community is nothing new, Adhitya Bagaskara feels that this movement is good and worthy to continue to be fought for.

This actually made us even more excited to start the #MusicFor All campaign. Because good things should continue to be repeated by anyone," he said.
Meanwhile, the song Aku Tak Mau Sendiri was composed by Icha Aji as the vocalist and Jikustik bass player in 2005, which was later released and sung by BCL a year later.
If all this time the song Aku Tak Mau Sendiri is sung with a woman's point of view, Jikustik brings it with a male perspective.
"As a songwriter, I feel that my task has been completed when I succeed in presenting a work that is able to enable fans of my work to understand this song from a complete perspective, both from a woman and a man's point of view," concluded Icha Aji.
