Anies Baswedan Ziarah To Ulama's Tomb In Jombang
Vice President Anies Baswedan will make a pilgrimage to the graves of a number of scholars in Jombang, East Java, and meet the mother of the General Chairperson of the PKB DPP Muhaimin Iskandar.
Anies said his visit to the pilgrimage was an effort to emulate the struggles of the ulama.
"We are on a pilgrimage hoping to continue what has become a service in the struggle of ulama, people and the nation," he said during a pilgrimage in Jombang as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 31.
Anies' pilgrimage included the graves at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, tombs in Rejoso, Tambakberas to Denanyar.
What was visited were the graves of NU founder KH Hasyim Asy'ari in Tebuireng, KH Bisri Syamsuri in Denanyar, then the tomb of KH Muhammad Iskandar, the father of the General Chairperson of the PKB DPP Muhaimin Iskandar to Kiai Ahmad Yusuf Cholil, who is the father of the Mayor of Pasuruan Saifullah Yusuf.
At the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Anies was greeted by the caretaker of KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz or Gus Kikin. After stopping at the dalem Kasepuhan, Anies and his entourage went to the tomb in the pesantren area.
At the Denanyar Islamic Boarding School, Anies was greeted by the caretaker of the Mambaul Ma'arif Islamic Boarding School (PPMM) Denanyar, Jombang, KH Abdussalam Shohib (Gus Salam).
The group then made a pilgrimage to the grave of KH Bisri Syamsuri in the pesantren area.
Anies then together held a meeting at the house of Kasepuhan Pondok Denanyar, the birthplace of KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur). Also present at the meeting were grandchildren of KH Bisri, namely Nyai Latifah Shohib and Mu'linah Shohib.
He also visited the house of the mother of the General Chairperson of the PKB DPP Muhaimin Iskandar in Jombang. However, Cak Imin did not appear, Muhaimin Iskandar's nickname during his visit.
There are only a number of PKB cadres who also accompany during gatherings and pilgrimages. He also had time to meet his volunteers in Jombang.

Anies admitted that his visit did want a pilgrimage. He is grateful to be able to visit a number of clerical graves in Jombang.
Asked about the political conversation when he went to Jombang, including communication with PKB, Anies admitted that he had communicated with the head of all political parties.
"Communication with all. I am grateful that in Jombang this can make a pilgrimage to the main character in Jombang," he said.
Meanwhile, the caretaker of PPMM Denanyar, KH Abdussalam Shohib said that during a meeting with Anies Baswedan, he did not discuss politics.
In that gathering, he told that the most senior in Denanyar was Nyai Muhasona, Cak Imin's mother.
"Pak Anies visited Mrs. Nyai Muhasona to ask for prayers and blessings," said Gus Salam.
