Bandang Floods Hit 2 Villages In The Inland Of Nagan Raya Aceh

NAGAN RAYA - Two villages in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, namely Blang Meurandeh Village and Babah Suak Village were hit by flash floods, after the river flow in the area was reported to have overflowed.

"It is not yet known whether there were any casualties in this disaster, but a number of houses were damaged," said Beutong Ateuh Banggalang sub-district head, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, Rustam Effendi, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 28.

Temporary information obtained, the damage caused by the natural disaster included a shophouse (ruko) unit in Blang Meurandeh Village, Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District, which was reported to have been carried away by the current.

Then four shophouse units in Alue Beutong Hamlet, Blang Meurandeh Village, Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District, Kabhpayen Nagan Raya were badly damaged.

Meanwhile, five other shophouses were damaged by the flash flood disaster.

Head of Beutong Ateuh Banggalang Sub-district, Rustam Effendi, said that his party had reported the natural disaster to the Nagan Raya BPBD, Aceh, in order to get further treatment.

"For the damage, of course, so far we are still collecting data, in locations it is still raining heavily," said Rustam Effendi.
