Karawang Police Arrest Narcotics And Drug Dealers

The Karawang Police have arrested three certain narcotics and hard drugs dealers who usually act in the Karawang Regency area, West Java.

"Three perpetrators were arrested a few days ago, in different locations," said Karawang Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 21.

Of the three perpetrators arrested, two of them were tramadol and alprazolam dealers.

Meanwhile, one other person who was arrested was a psychotropic dealer of gorilla tobacco.

From the arrest of certain hard drug dealers, the police confiscated around 25 thousand pills obtained at a shop in the Klari and Ciampel sub-districts.

Then from a gorilla tobacco narcotics dealer, the police confiscated evidence in the form of 80 grams of gorilla tobacco.

The evidence was found in a rented house located in Babakan Brondong Village, East Adiarsa Village, East Karawang District, Karawang.

For this gorilla tobacco dealer, the perpetrator works as a gas station officer in the Karawang area. He sells illegal goods online through his social media account.

The alleged article for certain drug dealers is Article 435 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health. The threat of imprisonment is 12 years or a maximum fine of IDR 5 billion.

Meanwhile, gorilla tobacco dealers are threatened with Article 114 paragraph (1) in conjunction with 112 paragraph (1) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a minimum penalty of four years, a maximum of 12 years or the death penalty.
