Using Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Technology, China Mobile And ZTE Provide Stable Internet Networks For Asian Games
JAKARTA - ZTE Corporation, a leading provider of global information and communication technology solutions, announced its collaboration with the China Mobile Research Institute and China Mobile Zhejiang Branch on Monday, August 14 yesterday.
Through this collaboration, both parties managed to complete the verification of the 5G-A RIS (Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface) application at the cycling stadium for the upcoming 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.
The 19th Asian Games will begin in Hangzhou in September. As the official telecommunications service partner of the Asian Games, China Mobile provides network guarantees.

With increasing HD live broadcasts and other services, high-quality network coverage requirements in stadiums pose new challenges for operators.
Using this RIS technology, the company says that this will improve the quality of signal coverage, be effective in meeting the requirements of large capacity services in stadiums, and providing excellent network guarantees for the Asian Games.

For information, ZTE notes RIS is a new multi-antenna technology originating from electromagnetic metamaterials, and is considered one of the key technologies in 5G-A and 6G phases.
