RI's 78th Anniversary, 103 Eye Disorders In East OKU Get Free Cataract Operations
MARTAPURA - As many as 103 people with cataracts receive free operational services in activities organized by local governments in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Timur Regency, South Sumatra Province.
In a series of activities to welcome the celebration of the 78th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the East OKU Regency Government provides free dwarf operations to help underprivileged citizens who need cataract operations services.
"In order to enliven the Indonesian Independence Day this year, we want to share our happiness with the underprivileged people in East OKU, especially in medical treatment," said Head of the East OKU Regency Mobilization Team Sheila Noberta, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 14.
Meanwhile, the Head of the East OKU District Health Office, Yakub, said that the service of deploying a medical team which includes expert doctors in the implementation of free cataract operations services.

"Before the operation, the patients had already undergone screening to ensure that there were no problems during the operation," he said.
In addition to providing free cataract operations, the East OKU Regency Government will provide free lipbing operations in collaboration with partners.
