Worldcoin Allows Token Reservation Customers Although Not Verified
The crypto project with the slice Worldcoin scanner now allows unverified customers to order their Worldcoin (WLD) tokens.
In an announcement on August 11, the Worldcoin project noted that the World App is now offering an ordering feature to make it easier for everyone to order their WLD tokens before verifying their ID World. The reserve will take effect for 12 months and users can exchange the world tokens they ordered by visiting a slice scanner device called the Orb.
The Worldcoin project consists of three main elements: Worldcoin ID, Worldcoin App, and Worldcoin tokens (WLD). Users who are willing to scan their slices to create a biometric data-based ID system will be rewarded with the original WLD token.
Worldcoin launched on July 24 after three years of development. The project promises to create a global database for humans to be distinguishable from future bots. The project's claim is based on the fact that in the future, artificial intelligence (AI) will become so prominent that it is difficult to distinguish real humans from bots on the internet, with World ID being the default ID system for humans to be able to access various services.
The project has made several bold claims and proposes to solve the utopian problem, which results in comparisons with science fiction shows like the Black Mirror. However, the project is already facing several investigations and regulatory issues for its operations.

The project was first suspended in Kenya due to its data collection methodology. The Kenyan government is particularly concerned about Worldcoin gathering important identification information such as scanning slices in exchange for digital IDs.
Apart from the shutdown in Kenya, the project is also facing regulatory action in Argentina and the UK. Although the project managed to get more than 2 million subscribers before its public launch, responses from customers after launch had been less than satisfactory.
The creators did not disclose the number of users who had claimed their WLD tokens while claiming that the response was very encouraging with the long queue.
