TNI/Polri Joint Raids In Puncak Jaya, Central Papua Ahead Of RI's Anniversary
JAYAPURA - The TNI and the National Police are currently actively conducting joint raids in Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua in order to maintain security and order, especially the circulation of prohibited goods ahead of the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
Dansatgas Infantry Battalion RK 115/ML, Lt. Col. Inf. Raden Herman Sasmita said that currently the Yonif RK 115/ML Task Force Prume Post together with Kodim 1714/Puncak Jaya and the Puncak Jaya Police conducted a joint raid to prevent efforts to smuggle prohibited items that were about to enter.
"This activity is carried out as a preventive measure to prevent the circulation of prohibited objects among the community such as firearms, sharp weapons and liquor," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 10.
According to him, it is very important to involve all elements of the security forces from the TNI-Polri who are on duty as well as show the solidarity and synergy of all parties in order to maintain security and order conditions in Central Papua.
"Especially before the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia like this, it is very important that security be carried out so that people can celebrate this moment smoothly without any disturbances," he said.

Meanwhile, Pasiter Task Force Battalion RK 115/ML Lt. Inf. Leonar Sirait said that apart from guarding this area, this was also to strengthen the solidarity of the TNI-Polri with various elements of society.
"We, the TNI-Polri, will always be solid in maintaining security and order in Puncak Jaya Regency, this is done so that people feel safe and comfortable in their activities. For this reason, we also invite the community to jointly maintain security and order in the Puncak Jaya Regency area so that a sense of security and peace is formed," he said.
