Acting Mayor Of Bandung Becomes Witness Of The Smart City Bribery Case
The Daily Executive (Plh.) of the Mayor of Bandung, Ema Sumarna, was presented by the public prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a witness in the trial of the Bandung Smart City project bribery case at the Corruption Court at the Bandung District Court, West Java.
Apart from Ema, the Public Prosecutor also presented him as a witness, namely the Chairman of Commission C of the Bandung City DPRD Yudi Cahyadi and Hari Hartawan.
Ema Sumarna was present at around 09.50 WIB, wearing a white official uniform and carrying a light green folder. Arriving at the court, Ema immediately went up to the main courtroom.
In the courtroom, Yudi Cahyadi and Hari Hartawan were also present in the courtroom at around 09.00 WIB.
KPK prosecutor Tito Jaelani explained that during the trial his party summoned three witnesses to strengthen the indictment on the three defendants who were being tried.
"So, for witnesses on behalf of Yudi Cahyadi, it is in the bribery file (the defendants); while the other two names, Regional Secretary Ema Sumarna and Hari Hartawan who are one of the procurement officials at the Bandung City Transportation Agency, are outside the bribery case file, but at the bribe recipients," Tito said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 9.
Ema Sumarna, Hari Hartawan, and also Yudi Cahyadi are politicians from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). The three of them were witnesses in a follow-up trial against three private parties who bribed the Bandung Smart City project in 2022 for the procurement of surveillance cameras (CCTV) and internet networks.
Bribes worth IDR 888 million were given to several parties to facilitate a number of Bandung City Government officials to travel to Bangkok, Thailand.

The three defendants in the trial were PT CIFO President Director Sony Setiadi, PT Sarana Mitra Manager Adiguna Andreas Guntoro, and Director of PT Sarana Mitra Adiguna Benny.
Sony was charged with Article 5 paragraph 1 letter a or Article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code; while Benny and Andreas were charged with Article 5 paragraph 1 letter a or Article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
