The Attorney General's Office Learns The Supreme Court's Cassation Decision Which Cancels Ferdy Sambo's Death Penalty
The Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Ketut Sumedana, said that his party had not received complete information regarding the Supreme Court's decision which ruled that the defendant in the premeditated murder of Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat, Ferdy Sambo, was sentenced to life imprisonment from the previous death penalty.
The AGO needs to study the cassation decision to determine the next step after the decision is declared to have permanent legal force.
"I haven't received complete information, we'll study it first," Sumedana said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.
The cassation decision is a decision that already has permanent legal force.
The Supreme Court (MA) has decided that the defendant in the premeditated murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat, Ferdy Sambo, will be sentenced to life imprisonment from the previous death penalty.
In addition, the verdict of the three defendants in the premeditated murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat, namely Putri Candrawathi, Ricky Rizal Wibowo, to Strong Ma'ruf.
The Supreme Court has decided that Putri Candrawathi, who is Ferdy Sambo's wife, will be sentenced to ten years in prison from the previous 20 years.
Meanwhile, Ricky Rizal's sentence became lighter, namely eight years in prison than the previous 13 years.

The sentence of Sambo and Putri's household assistants, Strong Ma'ruf, was also lightened from the previous 15-year prison term to ten years.
Previously, Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death by a panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (13/2). Then, he declared an appeal on Thursday (16/2) against the decision of the South Jakarta District Court judges.
Then, at the trial on Wednesday (12/4), the panel of judges at the DKI Jakarta High Court (PT) rejected Ferdy Sambo's appeal and upheld the decision of the South Jakarta District Court regarding the death penalty for him.
Ferdy Sambo then submitted a cassation application on May 12, 2023.
