RI's 78th Anniversary, 22 Bekasi Dancers Will Show Off At The Palace
A total of 22 dancers from Bekasi Regency are ready to show off to perform the classic Sundanese dance at the State Palace at the commemoration of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day at the State Palace.
Dancers from Bekasi are part of 92 dancers from 11 districts and cities in West Java Province who will appear in a series of flag-lowing ceremonies on August 17, 2023.
Acting Bekasi Regent Dani Ramdan witnessed the dancers practicing at the Juang 45 Building, Tambun Selatan District.
He is proud that students from Bekasi Regency can participate in performing traditional West Java dances at the State Palace.
"This method can further promote the art of classical dance in particular, because other people can see that West Java has a noble culture of good dance," he said on Sunday, July 30, which was confiscated by Antara.
He said that the district government facilitates training and competition activities aimed at preserving regional arts.
"We will continue to facilitate in the form of training and competitions so that studios and our children who like dance can be appreciated," he said.

Head of the West Java Provincial Culture and Tourism Office Benny Bachtiar believes the dancers are preparing their best performances.
"I believe these children are selected and best children. I want to motivate them to be able to give the best performance at the event, because all of these younger siblings carry the name West Java," he said.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Bekasi Regency Kusuma Art Studio, Grandmother Anjar, said that the dancers were excited to present traditional West Java arts.
"We will show our children, who apparently still have enthusiasm and want to get to know Sundanese classic art from West Java. I will coordinate directly the preparations until the time of their appearance," he said.
He added that dancers from West Java Province who will appear at the flag Lowering ceremony at the State Palace have been training for about a month.
