Hundreds Of Persons With Disabilities Work In Minimarkets And Accept Special Facilities With Disabilities

JAKARTA - A total of 255 people with disabilities get decent jobs in a number of minimarket stores. This was done because the company tried to become an inclusive company by accepting workers from people with disabilities.

"Until now, 255 disabled people have been employed, both in shops, warehouses and offices," said Tri Wasono Sunu, one of the leading minimarket management parties, Friday, July 28.

Acceptance of workers with disabilities has been carried out since 2019. Acceptance of disabled workers is in accordance with the competence of the work sector.

Tri said, his party also accommodates the construction of facilities and infrastructure for people with disabilities so that they feel comfortable while working.

"The construction of these facilities is in the form of special parking areas, priority seats that will be placed in the lobby of the Branch office, and the construction of ramps (disabled stairs) to facilitate mobility," he said.

Tri added that currently his party is in the development stage for parking and priority seats for disabilities in all minimarket branch offices.

"Our target is that the ongoing process can be completed in early September," he said.

In addition to facilities, his party also provides infrastructure such as video learning material which is currently equipped with text.

"So that deaf friends can absorb the training materials that are delivered properly. This method is very helpful in the process of developing their competence," he said.

His party also provides sign language class training to non-disabled employees so that employees are able to interact well with deaf colleagues.

"We are committed to being the best forum so that they get the same opportunities and rights. This is a clear proof of the implementation of Law No. 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities. What should be appreciated and imitated is his enthusiasm at work," he said.
