Elon Musk Wants Dark Mode On Twitter, As Part Of 'X' Platform Rebranding

JAKARTA - Recently, Elon Musk again drew controversy by giving his opinion in the debate between light mode and dark mode. While Twitter, which is currently rebranding to 'X', seems to fully support dark mode. Musk posted that "this platform will soon only have a 'dark mode'. This is better in every way."

Musk's opinion immediately got a predictable response, with some arguing that the bright text on the black background could be difficult to read. Many have asked Twitter to continue to provide light mode options even though it turned dark mode as the default for the new design identity 'X'.

For users, whose phone only moves to dark mode in very rare circumstances, looks like the right move. All apps dynamically adjust to light or dark modes based on your current OS settings? That's how it is. But users also know there are some full-time dark mode supporters, and that seems to be the direction Musk wants.

Currently, Twitter offers some background options based on user individual preferences: there's light mode, "dim" with dark blue/grey background, and "lights out" that use black backgrounds.

Twitter's gradual rebranding to 'X' continues: overnight, the company's Android app underwent a change in appearance, with the new name and logo now displayed on the Google Play Store. Chances are, the iOS app will follow shortly thereafter.

Meanwhile, Twitter is working hard to bring back advertisers and offers verification as an incentive for brands to spend more on the platform.
