JAKARTA - Indonesian mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari admitted that they could not get out of the pressure when facing South Korean seed Seo Seung Jae/Chae Yu Jung in the first round of the Japan Open 2023, Wednesday.

In the match which took place at the Yoyogi Stadium, Rinov/Pitha had to lose in two straight games over Seo/Chae 14-21, 13-21.

"The opponent from the start was ready and anticipated our game. We continue to be under pressure. We hope to return to our best performance as soon as possible," said Rinov in a written statement from PBSI as reported by Antara.

Meanwhile, Pitha said he was disappointed because he lacked focus and made many mistakes himself against the sixth seeded pair in the Super 750 level tournament.

"We are disappointed, this result is not what we want. I played a lot of mistakes myself. As a forward, I admit that I still can't match Chae Yu Jung's level," Pitha said.
