Indonesia-South Korea Strengthen Cooperation In The Field Of Manpower
JAKARTA - The Indonesian government and the South Korean government continue to strengthen cooperation in the employment sector, which includes the placement of Indonesian Migrant Workers, job training, master-level scholarships, and other technical assistance programs.
"I believe that, in the leadership of Mr. Lee Jung Sik, the Minister of Manpower and Labor of the Republic of Korea, the support and cooperation between Indonesia and Korea, especially in the field of employment, can be stronger, more developed and sustainable," said Secretary General, Anwar Sanusi in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday 22 July.
In a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Manpower and Labor of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jung Sik in Indonesia, India, Secretary General Anwar conveyed that the Ministry of Manpower through the Directorate General of Manpower Development and Safety of Work Health has participated by submitting a proposal in the framework of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) cooperation, namely the Policy Consulting Program for Improvement of OSH Law and Policies with the title of the proposal for Improvement on Indonesia s OSH Policy at the end of 2022. The implementation partners of this program are KOSHA and Ministry of Employmet and Labor Korea.
However, he continued, in line with the discussion process until now the Indonesian government has not received clarity of information from the Government of the Republic of Korea regarding the results of the project assessment selection.
"We hope that the proposal can be approved by the Korean government so that it can be implemented immediately considering that the activities to be carried out in the cooperation will support reforms of employment supervision in Indonesia, including in the revitalization of the Work Health Safety Center," said Secretary General Anwar.
He said the Ministry of Manpower is one of the ministries in Indonesia that is active in participating in the World Expo event which is held once a year.
