Pelindo Pontianak Jajaki Partnership To Optimize Kijing Port
JAKARTA - General Manager of Pelindo Regional 2 Pontianak Hambangr Wiyadi said that his party is currently exploring the Kijing Port optimization partnership in Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan.
"Currently, there are three large companies interested in becoming investment partners in the Kijing Port area in Mempawah," he said, in Pontianak, quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 22.
He said the three interested companies, namely Wilmar, Apical, and Indo Pacific.
According to him, the operation of the company could be 12 million tons of liquid bulk in the form of CPO and its derivatives per year. This means that there are 6 million tons of entry and 6 million tons of disbursement.
"That has enormous potential. So that Kijing Port is a liquid bulk hub in West Kalimantan Province. Cooperation will be built in the near future," he said again.
So far, according to him, for the liquid bulk published at Kijing Port until May 2023, there have been 383,500 tons. Then it is predicted that by the end of 2023 there will be 600 thousand tons.
"Again, if there is a company being explored, then there will be a 100 percent increase or even more," he said.
Regarding ships that have docked at Kijing Mempawah Port, Pelindo Regional 2 Pontianak noted that there were 209 ships or barges that carried out loading and unloading activities for both domestic and foreign trade in the first semester of 2023.

"Until the first semester of 2023, there have been 209 ships that we have served at Kijing Port. That means it has increased by almost 100 percent compared to last year," he said.
Meanwhile, judging by the type of transportation, it is dominated by a liquid barge with a contribution of 60.3 percent or 126 units. Then the liquid bulk ship is 23.4 percent or 49 units, the general cargo ship is 8.6 percent or 18 units and the dry bulk ship is 7.7 percent or 16 units.
"For the ratio of ship activities, namely 70.3 percent domestically and 29.7 percent internationally. For international purposes, it is for export and import activities," he also said.
