Ministry Of Finance: State Budget Present To Build IDR 2.65 Trillion Sadawarna Dam
The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) revealed that the Sadawarna Dam in Sumedang Regency, West Java is one of the national strategic projects (PSN) in the field of water resources.
It was stated that the facility became the 5th dam in West Java which had been completed with a high dimension of 40 meters and a length of 933 meters and a water flow of 137 km.
Upstream from springs in the North Bandung Mountains and empties into the Java Sea, this river flows through Sumedang, Subang and Indramayu Regencies. The construction of the total dam area cost a budget of Rp. 2.65 trillion, has a capacity of up to 70.86 million m3, with a dam inundation area of 681.48 Ha, "said a press release from the Ministry of Finance on Friday, July 21.
The agency led by Sri Mulyani stated that this strategic project was predicted to be able to help overcome the flood problem downstream of the Cipunegara watershed, as well as supply irrigation and raw water for agricultural lands in Subang and Indramayu Regencies.
"In its realization, it takes the acquisition of a number of lands consisting of community land, forests, village treasury land, waqf and so on. In this case, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) cooperates with the State Asset Management Institute (LMAN) in the land acquisition process. LMAN is one of the special mission vehicles under the Ministry of Finance whose function is to assist the government in providing land for infrastructure development," said the Ministry of Finance.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Sadawarna Dam Management Unit (UPB), Maman Sulaeman, said that the process of land acquisition for residents for the construction of this project was not as easy as turning the palm of the hand.
"The process of approaching residents is carried out humanely involving residents, figures and affected village officials," he said.
Similarly, Cibalandong Village Head Jaya Lili Maulana said the existing obstacles were immediately resolved by her party together with BBWS Citarum and LMAN by continuing to conduct socialization to affected residents using a right replacement scheme in the form of distributing compensation money (UGR).
Pros and cons must exist. At that time, it was more because of a misunderstanding related to the process of replacing his rights, whether to exchange rolls or in the form of direct money," explained Lili.
To note, the Sadawarna Dam is a multipurpose dam with a green, natural, recycle dam concept. This means that this public infrastructure is built using principles based on a sustainable environment.
This dam is expected to function to reduce floods, irrigation flow and supply of raw water. Of the three, the new benefits can be felt in the form of water discharge arrangements to reduce flood risk. The peak of the flood discharge flowing to the estuary in the Pamanukan area has been successfully reduced by 25.5 percent.
