Meta Introduces WhatsApp Channels Features For Personal Broadcast Communications
JAKARTA - Meta Platforms Inc., on Thursday 8 June introduced WhatsApp Channels, a feature the social media giant claims will help make the app a "private broadcast messaging product".
Users in Colombia and Singapore will be the first to gain access to the Channels. In the coming months. Meta will also expand the availability of this feature to users in more countries.

The company says users will be able to follow content about hobbies, sports teams, updates from local officials, and more.

Profile photos and admin channel contact information will not be visible to followers. Similarly, followers will not have their phone numbers revealed.
Global partners for this feature include the World Health Organization (WHO), FC Barcelona, and Manchester City.
