BOGOR - A furniture shop and minimarket on Jalan Raya Dramaga, West Bogor District, Bogor City caught fire, Friday, May 26. The total loss is estimated at IDR 4 billion.

Head of the Bogor City Fire Department, Samson Purba, told ANTARA that the furniture shop fire was suspected to have occurred due to an electrical short in the retailer building transformer at around 4.30 WIB.

"From there, it is suspected that the fire spread to the furniture building that grew, eating the two-story shophouse building," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday afternoon.

Samson said joint officers were immediately deployed when residents came to the Yasmin Fire Station when they saw the incident. Upon the report, officers arrived at around 4.42 WIB.

Seeing the fire rising high, the Bogor City Damkar also sent four fire cars and assisted by six fire cars from the Bogor Regency Fire Department.

"About 45 minutes the fire was extinguished, because we put a lot of fire cars there," he said.

Samson said that the cooling of the burned material had also been carried out at the location.

Meanwhile, the owner of a furniture shop, Hartono, suspected that an electrical short came from an Indomaret shop under his shop, then spread to his shop on the 2nd floor.
