Malaysia Reviews The Calo Bill In The Aftermath Of Coldplay Tickets Of More Than IDR 100 Million
JAKARTA - The Malaysian government is reviewing to make a Draft Law (RUU) specifically to overcome ticket brokers in the aftermath of advertising for Coldplay band ticket sales on social media which reaches a price of more than one hundred million rupiah.
... in Malaysia we do not yet have a antiulat ticket' (anti-cilo ticket) law. We will examine with other ministries that may regulate program activities that have ticket sales aspects, both online and non-perform," said Malaysian Communications and Digital Affairs Minister Fahmi Fadzil in Kuala Lumpur as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 23.
Malaysia, according to him, will look again at what kind of legislation needs to be to prevent ticket broker problems from happening again in the future.
He said that no e-tickets had been issued by Live Nation as official ticket sellers even though they had sold out. Therefore, if there is a fraud that states that it has delivered the ticket, the public can report it to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Living Costs (KPDN).
There are 700,000 plots of Coldplay concert ticket buyers in Malaysia and the number sold reaches 71,000 tickets. Live Nation, according to him, recorded that 26,000 transactions were successfully carried out at the sale of the concert ticket.
However, according to Fahmi, Live Nation cannot explain whether transactions are carried out by bot or other means, because there is an element of confidentiality of personal data.
Minister of Domestic Trade and Living Cost of Salahuddin Ayub said KPDN received 28 complaints related to Coldplay concert tickets, but all of them were common.
He appealed to those who believe they are experiencing a Coldplay ticket sales scam to make an official complaint.
He said similar cases could occur in the sale of football tickets, buses or others. Therefore, it needs to be resolved together so that there will be no losses in the future.
