Gibran Was Called 'Against' The PDIP DPP After The Meeting With Prabowo
Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka admitted that there was a call from the PDIP DPP after his meeting agenda with Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto on Friday (19/5) night.
"I was Monday morning (22.5) facing the DPP, called at 10.00 WIB," he said in Solo as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 20.
According to Gibran, the summons was made by the Secretary General of the PDIP DPP Hasto Kristiyanto this morning.
"I've never avoided it, you know. I was just a child there, a new cadre. I was reprimanded, please," he said.
He admitted that he was ready if he was given sanctions by the party due to the meeting. However, Gibran ensured that the meeting was held with his capacity as Mayor of Surakarta and Prabowo as Minister of Defense.
"I am ready to accept sanctions, warnings, my punishment is ready to accept it. My function is there to pick him up as a minister. If it is a matter of presidential candidacy, I did not participate yesterday," he said.
Gibran explained that on Friday, May 19, the night was just a normal dinner.
"Yesterday it was just dinner. I didn't come when he gave an oration, I stepped aside, didn't join," he said.

Gibran also said from the start he never mentioned his support for one of the particular presidential candidates.
"There is nothing specific. It never came out of my mouth to support who," he said.
Regarding the existence of volunteers, he said, Jokowi volunteers and Gibran volunteers were narrowed to two names, namely Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto.
"The name volunteer cannot be forced, it must come here, there, you can't. Volunteers are critical, objective. Apart from Pak Prabowo, if I am told to gather more who supports Pak Ganjar," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding the issue of his move to the Gerindra Party, Gibran confirmed that it would not happen.
"No, PDIP party that raised me, accepted me, educated me, sent me to school. I didn't have to move to Gerindra," he said.
