Ministry Of Industry Calls PIDI 4.0 Supports Digital Economy Adaptation In Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is focused on accelerating digital transformation, especially in the manufacturing industry sector.
Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said, based on the results of a study by Google Temasek, Bain & Company, the value of Indonesia's digital economy throughout 2022 has exceeded the figure of 77 billion US dollars or grew by 22 percent (yoy), and is predicted to almost double, bringing it to 130 billion US dollars by 2025.
In order to prepare Indonesia in the face of the era of the digital industry 4.0, the government through the Ministry of Industry is known to have launched a Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap focused on seven manufacturing sectors, including the food and beverage, textile and clothing, automotive, chemical, electronics, medical devices, and pharmaceutical industries.
The seven sectors have contributed 70 percent to industrial GDP, 65 percent of industrial exports, and 60 percent of industrial workers in Indonesia.
"Meanwhile, to support national priority programs and accelerate industrial transformation 4.0, the Ministry of Industry has built the Indonesian Digital Industry Center (PIDI 4.0)," said Minister of Industry Agus in a written statement, quoted Monday, May 15.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry Masrokhan said, PIDI 4.0 has various strategic programs, one of which is human resource training (HR) related to industrial skill development 4.0. The program has been attended by thousands of participants.
In addition, PIDI 4.0 also presented industrial showcase 4.0, the implementation of disruptive technology such as AI and IoT, to the development of ecosystem 4.0 in Indonesia.

"Currently, PIDI 4.0 is present at the 2023 Indonesia Digital Financial Economy Festival (FEKDI). This is an opportunity to further introduce PIDI 4.0 programs to stakeholders and the public, as well as to support the adaptation of the digital economy in Indonesia," he said.
The FEKDI event which took place on May 7-10, 2023 in Jakarta, raised the theme Synergy and Innovation of Digital Economy: Fostering Growth. The purpose of this activity is to encourage innovation in the digital economy and finance, strengthen the resilience and revival of the national economy, communicate initiatives and policies for digitization, and increase the synergy of the government, stakeholders, and society.
"PIDI 4.0 itself presents a booth during the FEKDI event. The Booth provides information about the PIDI 4.0 activities. At the booth, PIDI 4.0 also collaborated with two PIDI 4.0 partners, namely TSM and NEC," he concluded.
