COVID-19 Update As Of May 10: 1,768 New Cases, Total Cases 6,792,173

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 25,854 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 1,768 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,792,173 people and active cases have increased by 451 to 18,877 cases," said COVID-19 Task Force data, Wednesday, May 10.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,292 people, bringing the total to 6,611,770 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 25 cases and a total of 161,526 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 618 cases and a total of 1,563,063 cases. Followed by West Java which has 298 new cases with a total of 1,247,848 cases. East Java has 212 new cases and a total of 645,509 cases. Central Java has 192 new cases and a total of 660,535 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 345 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 334 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 215 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 127 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 116,637,257.

"Positive results per number of people examined or this week's positivity rate of 9.94 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 1,872 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 203,837,702 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 174,881,202 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 68,791,379 and the fourth dose was 3,162,029. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
