Mahfud MD: ASEAN Political And Security Blue Print Priority APSC 2023
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD conveyed the main agenda of the 26th ASEAN Political and Security Council (ASPC) meeting on May 9, 2023 discussing the 2025 ASEAN Political and Security Pillar Blue Prints.
Mahfud MD said the blueprint is a guide for members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to increase cooperation in realizing a safe and peaceful ASEAN society.
"In the ASEAN Political and Security Council or APSC meeting, our main agenda discussed the progress and implementation of the 2025 ASEAN Political and Security Pillar Blue Prints," said Mahfud MD in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, Sunday, quoted from Antara.
The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia for the 26th ASPC meeting in Labuan Bajo was tasked with leading the ASEAN political and security forum.
Therefore, Mahfud said that he had coordinated with all political and security-related agencies and institutions in ASEAN, in particular to ensure synchronization during the discussion of issues that were APSC's priority.
"We will also coordinate with all sectoral agencies in the political pillar and security of ASEAN, as well as synchronize issues that are cross-sectoral, and cross-pilars of ASEAN Society," said Mahfud MD, who at the chairmanship of Indonesia for ASEAN this year is responsible for ASEAN's political and security pillars.

The ASEAN Political and Security Pillar Blueprint contains 290 action steps that must be applied by all ASEAN members.
The blueprint was compiled based on the contents of the ASEAN Charter and the documents from the agreement of ASEAN members.
Not only chairing the 26th ASPC meeting, which is a series of activities at the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, Mahfud MD is also scheduled to accompany Indonesian President Joko Widodo during the ASEAN Summit (KTT) which takes place on May 9, 2023.
The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs is also scheduled to attend a meeting with the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) on May 10, 2023.
Mahfud MD arrived in Labuan Bajo, Sunday, and he immediately checked the security readiness of the ASEAN Summit, one of which was at KRI Suharso 990. The security of the ASEAN Summit was led by the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono, assisted by police officials, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), BSSN, and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense.
Security for the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo involved more than 12,000 joint personnel, consisting of the TNI and Polri. Security objects include event locations, visiting places, airports, ports, and delegation lodging places.
