Google Starts Launching Verification Checks For Gmail
JAKARTA - Following in the footsteps of the social network, Google will also begin rolling out verification features for its electronic mail service, Gmail, to improve security on its platform.
According to the announcement shared, this feature called the Brand Indicator for Message Identification (BIMI) has been introduced since 2021. This feature requires email senders to verify their logo to display the brand logo as an avatar in an email.
"In 2021, we introduce a Brand Indicator for Message Identification (BIMI) in Gmail, a feature that requires senders to use powerful authentication and verify their brand logo to display brand logos as avatars in emails," Google wrote.

Now, the search giant is providing improvements to its features. Where, users will see the checkmark icon next to the email sender's name, in your inbox.
"Based on this feature, users will now see a checkmark icon for senders who have adopted BIMI. This will help users identify messages from legitimate senders versus impersonators," the company added.

Furthermore, Google says that this feature will help users and email security systems to identify and discontinue spam, as well as allow senders to increase their brand confidence, "he added.
"This increases confidence in email sources and gives readers an in-depth experience, creating a better email ecosystem for everyone," the company concluded.
Gmail verification tick launches will roll out from May 3, and will be available to all Google Workspace subscribers, as well as old G Suite Basic and Business subscribers, as well as personal Google accounts.
