Two Women Drowning In Rawa Depok Area: 1 Found Dead, 1 In Search
JAKARTA - Two teenagers named Sheila Junaita (12) and Nur Hanifa (17) were missing when they were swept away by the water in the sewers of Jalan Tawakal, Pancoran Mas District, Depok City, West Java. The incident occurred when the two victims were about to return to their respective homes and cross the overflow of water around the culvert - culvert on Tuesday, April 25.
At the time of the incident, the water level overflowed about 50 cm or as high as the waist of an adult. The two victims had received help from their grandfather who was also an eye witness to the incident.
But unfortunately, the two victims could not be saved because they had been carried away by the current and drowned towards a swamp in the area.
The joint SAR team that conducted the search and search finally managed to find victim Sheila Junaita on Tuesday, April 25, evening. The victim was found at a radius of approximately 90 meters from the scene of the incident in a dead condition.
"One victim was found by the joint SAR team and then immediately evacuated to the funeral home for us to hand over to the victim's family. Then we will maximize the search tonight," said Head of the Jakarta SAR Office, Fazzli when confirmed, Wednesday, April 26.

In an effort to search for victims, the SAR team found problems with garbage and mud around the search area. Search is prioritized in swamps around the scene.
"The search is still the same, conducting a sweep of the swamp which is a water reservoir. Today the search started at around 07.00 WIB," he said.
The joint SAR operation involved elements of the Jakarta SAR Office, Depok City Fire Department, Pancoran Mas Police, Pancoran Mas Koramil and other elements. A total of 90 joint personnel were involved.
