3 Important Tasks From President Jokowi For New Menpora Dito Ariotedjo
JAKARTA The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo was immediately given three important tasks by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) after being inaugurated to replace Zainudin Amali.
President Jokowi inaugurated Dito as Menpora at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, April 3, 2023. One of the tasks that the 32-year-old man will carry is the preparation of the Cambodian SEA Games in May.
Dito said he received instructions to prioritize sports (sports) that have the potential for medals to appear in the biennial event for the Southeast Asia region.
"So, it must be efficient, but we get the best medal results," said Dito in his first press statement.
The next task given by President Jokowi is league competition at the level of education, both schools and campuses. In addition, Jokowi also asked Dito to revive events at the village level.
"Second, we want the sports competition leagues to still be held at the level of school and college education and also for our community we are asked to promote leagues between villages," said Dito.
Meanwhile, Dito's third task must be carried out is in terms of the sports industry. This sector is expected to grow rapidly to keep the sports wheel stable.
"Third, want the Indonesian sports industry ecosystem to be more advanced," said Dito.
Although still very young, Dito's actions in the world of sports are quite taken into account. Prior to serving as Menpora, he had led the Indonesian contingent at the Youth Olympics in 2018.
At that time, he was appointed by the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC) to become the CdM Youth Olympic Games which took place in Argentina.
In addition, Dito is also known to be one of the important figures behind the establishment of RANS Prestige Sportstainment. This company is in charge of Rans Nusantara FC (ball club) and Rans PIK (ball club).
