10 Years Of Development Of The Indonesian Maritime Sector Unchanged, Ganjar: No Intention, What More Do You Want?

JAKARTA - The Presidential Candidate (Readpres) Ganjar Pranowo has criticized the development of the maritime sector during the administration of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Ganjar believes that development in the sector has not changed in the last 10 years.

According to Ganjar, this happened because the program launched by the government was not carried out seriously. One of the programs is the Sea Toll Road.

"Why are there no discussions for 10 years of maritime affairs? No intention, sir. What else do you want to use? Still land based, continental based," said Ganjar in the 100 Economist Indonesia Facilities in Jakarta, written Thursday, November 9.

The former governor of Central Java assessed that during President Jokowi's administration, infrastructure development was only focused on mainland areas.

For example, the construction of health facilities for health centers that also need to be built in floating water areas or health centers.

Not only that, Ganjar also criticized the construction of road infrastructure in mainland areas but was not balanced with the construction of a marine transportation system.

"But why didn't it be done? Because I didn't intend. If government doesn't work, then criticism arises," he said.

Ganjar also questioned why it did not involve researchers and activists who were considered ideological enough to build Indonesian marine power.

One of them, the potential for seaweed is quite large in Indonesia.

"I found a great Indonesian people, I called, and also proposed, let's take it seriously. Why did I say seaweed at that time? Because the potential is big, I ask for forgiveness," he said.
