Piles In Jakarta, Erick Thohir Will Distribute BUMN Offices To Regions

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir plans to move state-owned offices to the regions. This step was taken because the state-owned company offices were too piled up in Jakarta.

"These SOE offices should not be concentrated in Jakarta, but spread in several areas," said Erick, quoted from the official Instagram @erickthohir, Friday, September 15.

For example, said Erick, in the past the Biofarma office and even Telkom were in West Java. However, now it is concentrated in Jakarta.

Therefore, Erick wants state-owned offices, which initially existed in the regions, to be returned to these areas. That way, SOEs will contribute to the regions.

"This can increase regional income through tax distribution. As the locomotive of the national economy, we also want to contribute to the region so that it can continue to grow and progress together," wrote Erick.

Regarding what SOEs will be distributed to regions, Erick said it would be mapped again.

"What is the SOE? Of course we remap it," he said.

According to Erick, returning the BUMN office to these areas is a discussion that can be developed. Moreover, he said, the Ministry of SOEs is currently preparing a blueprint for BUMN.

"This is of course a discussion that we can develop, while we ourselves are making a blueprint for BUMN in the future, whether with this consolidation we mean that all SOEs are centralized or we certainly spread it according to the history of SOEs," he said.
