RI's 78th Anniversary, PLTU Jawa 9&10 Capai 30 Million Working Hours Zero Accident

JAKARTA - The commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, is a special moment. Not only for the Indonesian people, but also PT Indo Raya Tenaga (IRT) as SPC (Special Purpose Company) for the PLTU Ultra Super Critical Java 9&10 (2 x 1,000 MW) generation project, Cilegon, Banten.

The reason is, since project construction began in January 2020, this August, IRT has absorbed 7,000 residents, with work time reaching 30 million hours without any work accidents or zero accidents.

"Let us be grateful for the achievement of 30 million hours of man-hours without Lost-time Injury which we achieved in early August 2023," said Deputy General Manager of IRT Kardi Bin Kasiran in front of hundreds of construction workers of PLTU Java 9&10, at the 78th Hut Ke Kemerdekaan RI ceremony at the PT Indo Raya Tenaga (IRT) Site Office in Suralaya, Merak, Cilegon City, Thursday 17 August.

Kardi said that the commemoration of the Indonesian Independence Day in the project area was carried out as a form of nationalism for project workers so that it could be in line with the theme of current independence, "Continue to Advance for Advanced Indonesia". This theme is also expected to be embedded in workers, in order to realize the completion of the PLTU 9 and 10 construction projects on time.

"We commemorate the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, the theme that is carried out continues to advance for advanced Indonesia. We, in the context of the Java 9 & 10 PLTU project, continue to advance for our work projects. We hope that this project can be completed on time in 2025," said Kardi.

He also invited all parties involved in this national strategic project to unite, together as a big family, to complete this project well.

"We all have the same goal, namely achieving the project completion target according to a safe and healthy schedule, with quality and responsibility standards. Let's put differences, forget each other's interests priorities, and focus on the goals of this project," he said.

To note, the construction work of PLTU 9 and 10 has now reached 78 percent. This project is also expected to have an impact on national economic growth and surrounding areas. Kardi added that the PLTU 9 and 10 projects were built to help the electricity of Java - Bali.

"The hope is that on time, this PLTU 9 and 10 can help economic growth to achieve an advanced Indonesia in the future," he added.
