JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) said that the budget allocation for IKN development reached IDR 40 trillion for 2024.

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said the funds were included in the budget allocated in the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) amounting to Rp35.7 trillion.

"IKN spending for next year will reach IDR 40.6 trillion, including those at the PUPR itself IDR 35.7 trillion," Minister Sri Mulyani said at a press conference for the 2024 RAPBN and Financial Notes in Jakarta, Wednesday, August 16.

Sri Mulyani said that the budget would be channeled to complete priority work for the progress of basic infrastructure in IKN, namely the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

He added that financing in IKN development will continue until 2045 by relying on the non-APBN portion.

"So, the priority for 2024 is in the context of proper transfer, where we can see the center of the government and its support is targeted to be completed in 2024," he said.

In addition, Sri Mulyani said, the budget will also be used for the construction of VVIP Airport which has been budgeted through the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

On the same occasion, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said the total budget for IKN from 2022-2024 reached IDR 56.58 trillion.

"The IKN budget is allocated in 2022 for IDR 5.24 trillion, in 2023 IDR 26.67 trillion, and in 2024 IDR 35.7 trillion. So, the total is IDR 65.58 trillion," he said.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the IKN Infrastructure Development Implementation Task Force revealed that the IKN progress had reached 38 percent, until early August 2023.
