Government Calls National Production Drones Increasingly Global Market Diminati

The government through the Ministry of Industry said that one of the active roles of promoting the advancement of technology and the local drone industry was to hold national and international level exhibitions.

Secretary of the Directorate General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry Yan Sibarang Tandiele said the strategy is believed to be able to expand the network of cooperation and increase market expansion.

"Because, in the series of exhibitions, business matching was also held which resulted in a cooperation agreement between a number of drone industries in Indonesia," he said at the Indonesia Drone Expo (IDE) exhibition as reported by the official website today, Sunday, August 12.

According to Yan, the exhibition could have a positive impact on increasing investment in the domestic drone industry.

The companies that signed the MoU were between PT. Bentara Tabang Nusantara (PT BETA) and PT Terra Drone Indonesia and PT. Innovation of Indonesian Transportation Solutions (PT ISTI) and PT Tera Data Indonusa.

"We support the domestic drone industry to continue to improve the quality and value of its domestic content level (TKDN) in order to supply needs and support government programs," he said.

It was stated that this step was in line with digital transformation in various aspects of the economy, which is also in line with the priority program Making Indonesia 4.0.

"The Ministry of Industry is committed to continuing to support the development of the domestic drone industry to make it more innovative and globally competitive," he stressed.

The collaboration between PT BETA as the drone manufacturing industry in Indonesia and PT Terra Drone as the world's largest drone service provider company from Japan, collaborates to export domestically produced drones to the international market. This comprehensive cooperation was marked by the signing of the procurement agreement for 40 RAYBE drone units.

"We are proud to be able to establish strategic cooperation with Terra Drone in an effort to bring RAYBE to the global market. This is an important step in strengthening the position of Indonesian local drone technology in the international market," said BETA-UAS CEO Indra Permana Sopian.

Furthermore, Indra stated that in addition to the international market, the need for commercial drones in Indonesia is also very large in various industrial sectors. One of them can be seen from the government's needs in the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program of the Ministry of ATR/BPN and the line survey of the Geospatial Information Agency throughout Indonesia which must use drones.
