JAKARTA - OpenAI, an artificial intelligence technology (AI) development company that created ChatGPT and Dall-e, has announced a $1 million cybersecurity grant program to increase and measure the impact of AI-based cybersecurity technology.

The AI company has consistently emphasized the importance of AI regulation to stop potentially malicious applications. In the ongoing digital arms race, OpenAI appears to be taking proactive steps to ensure positive power is not left behind.

OpenAI has presented a variety of project concepts, including creating traps to ensnare attackers, assisting developers in designing secure software, and improving repair management procedures for optimal effectiveness.

The purpose of this program is clear, as described by OpenAI in its official blog post: "Our goal is to advance AI-based cybersecurity capabilities for defenders through grants and additional assistance." The focus is evaluating the effectiveness of AI models and determining methods to improve their cybersecurity capabilities.

This innovative program aims to achieve three main goals. First, the program wants to " empower the defenders" by leveraging AI's capabilities and collaborative efforts to change balance to be more profitable for those dedicated to improving overall safety and security.

Another focus of this initiative is "measurability." OpenAI aims to provide support to projects focused on developing quantification methods to evaluate the effectiveness of AI models in cybersecurity. In addition, OpenAI intends to "lift up discussions" by facilitating in-depth discussions on the complicated relationship between AI and cybersecurity.

This initiative interferes with the conventional perspective on cyber security.
