JAKARTA - LinkedIn is trying to prevent its users from posting fake jobs, by adding verified information about their employers, or companies.

Previously, LinkedIn had launched a new verification feature last month preview version. Now, the feature is officially implemented.

This new feature will work when the user sees verification on a job post. This means that the information has been verified authenticity by the employer, LinkedIn, or one of the partners.

Verified information will show whether the uploaders are affiliated with the company's official website, verifying their office email, workplace, or government ID have been verified via CLEAR.

"We show this verification to help you feel confident in your search and provide recruiters with the opportunity to build trust with potential candidates," LinkedIn said in its official blog, quoted Tuesday, May 23.

Recently, LinkedIn also presented several updates on how to verify account authenticity by adding About Profile summary, which explains when profiles were created and the latter updated, along with whether members have verified phone numbers or office email associated with their accounts.

"We are also rolling out a new free way to verify your identity, office email address, and workplace on LinkedIn. We are delighted to partner with industry leaders Microsoft Entra and CLEAR to help ensure that LinkedIn is your source for trusted and verified information," LinkedIn said.

It doesn't stop there, LinkedIn will also warn users if there are messages that include high-risk content.

According to the company, it can affect user security. Through the Message Warning feature, users will be notified if a message asks them to switch conversations to other platforms, as sometimes it can be a sign of fraud.

"If something goes wrong, this warning will also give you the option to report content without notifying the sender," explained LinkedIn.

Finally, this professional network also launched Career Start Guidelines. With that, users can find jobs that are suitable for them.

"From industry with fastest growth to focus, to tips to navigate today's difficult job market. Are you just looking for your first job, or if you want to change roles and start something new," LinkedIn said.

"We encourage you to take advantage of these guidelines and other LinkedIn resources to help you start your job search."
