Witan And Rizky Ridho Still Haven't Joined The National Team TC, Persija Jakarta Coach Gives An Explanation

JAKARTA - Two Persija Jakarta players, Witan Sulaeman and Rizki Ridho, have not fulfilled the call to attend the Indonesian national team training camp (TC) ahead of FIFA Matchday. In fact, TC has been held since June 5. Even though currently the Kemayoran Tigers are not involved in a competition. Persija coach, Thomas Doll, then explained the reasons the two players had not joined the national team.

"For Witan and Ridho only have a week with us because they have a FIFA Matchday schedule. Maybe they will come back again after fighting Argentina," Thomas Doll said in a statement Friday, June 9.

"I think for now it's a good idea for them (Witan and Ridho) to train with others in Sawangan to take part in tactical training and physical training sessions. Especially Ridho who has to get to know his new environment," he added.

Thomas Doll himself does not deny that the match against Argentina on FIFA matchday will provide valuable experience for Indonesian national team players. For that, he will soon release his players to join.

The training camp itself is currently taking place in Surabaya. Recently, Elkan Baggott arrived and followed 15 other players who had already practiced first.

The players who had already come to the training center were Sandy Walsh, Andy Setyo, Rafael Struick, Ivar Jenner, Syahrul Trisna, Dendy Sulistyawan, Fachruddin Aryanto, Dimas Drajad, Stefano Lilipaly, Ernando Ari, Marselino Ferdinand, Ricky Kambuaya, Rachmat Irianto, Marc Klok, and Edo Febriansyah.

On the June edition of the FIFA Matchday, the national team will face two matches, namely against Palestine and Argentina. The first match will take place in Surabaya on June 14, while the second match against Argentina will be held on June 19 in Jakarta.
