Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo assesses that the appointment of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri as a suspect by Polda Metro Jaya in the alleged extortion case against former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) is a warning for all.

"This is an alert for all of us, that power is generally a tendency for corruption. So as we said earlier, this must be brushed off because if we handle it as usual, then we will betray what was conveyed at 98," said Ganjar to reporters at Mumahamadiyah University Jakarta (UMJ), Ciputat, South Tangerang (Tangsel), Thursday, November 23.

Ganjar said related to the case that ensnared Firli, he fully handed over the legal process to the competent authorities.

Polda Metro Jaya has named KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri as a suspect in the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) on Wednesday, November 22, evening.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said the determination of the suspect was carried out after the case was filed.

"A case title has been carried out, with the results found sufficient evidence to determine the FB brother as chairman of the KPK RI as a suspect, in the case of alleged corruption in the form of extortion or receiving gratuities or receiving gifts or promises by civil servants or state officials related to his position, related to the handling of legal problems at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture 2020-2023," said Ade Safri.

Firli Bahuri's determination as a suspect is as referred to in Article 12 e or Article 12 B or Article 11 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.
