Meeting Hungarian Ambassador Moeldoko Encourages Completion Of Contactless Toll Payment Technology Project

JAKARTA Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko received the arrival of the Hungarian Ambassador to Indonesia, HE Lilla Karsay at the Presidential Star Office, Central Jakarta, Monday 7 August. In the meeting, the two discussed several bilateral cooperation related to the acceleration of the development of the Indonesian government, especially those related to the Hungarian Government.

One of these discussed the Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) project worth US$300 million (around IDR 4.4 trillion) to be implemented.

Moeldoko conveyed that the cancellation of the MLFF trial on the Bali Mandara Toll Road had problems that needed to be resolved internally in order to find solutions to problems that could contribute well to both parties. He added that the system offered by Hungary must certainly be adjusted to what applies in Indonesia.

"It is necessary to find a new balance for both parties in the completion of this project, and this has become a direct concern by the President," he said.

Moeldoko assessed that the MLFF system needs various considerations because it can affect many things in various sectors. Starting from legality, law enforcement, central systems, technical readiness such as cameras, cars, cloud systems, to the operation of the system itself.

He said that the successful system in Hungary will not necessarily work in Indonesia. Thus, discussions with related parties are needed to be able to outline the problems that occurred in the road service system project for the contactless non-cash toll transaction.

The 2013-2015 TNI Commander said this meeting would be a sustainable communication to parties regarding the Bali Mandara Toll Road project, including Jasamarga.

Moeldoko stated that there are still some business cooperation in this project which is considered not fair to both parties. However, KSP will find a way out to produce the right solution in continuing the Bali Mandara Toll Road project.

Previously, the Head of the Presidential Star had advised Hungary to cooperate with Jasamarga to the toll road project. PT Jasamarga Bali Tol (JBT) itself is the manager of the Nusa Dua Ngurah Rai Benoa (Bali Mandara) toll road section. This step is considered to help outline problems that will affect the sustainability of the project. This project itself is considered not to be detrimental to the state, because its financing is a pure investment from the Hungarian Government without any APBN funds.

Meanwhile, the Hungarian Ambassador to Indonesia, Lilla Karsay, the Hungarian government continues to strive to carry out negotiations so that the smooth Bali Mandara toll road project can be immediately applied in Indonesia.

Given that various good bilateral cooperations have been implemented, one of which is the District Capital City Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM-IKK) and scholarship funding for Polytechnic students and Vocational Schools for internships in the country.

"Although there are various obstacles related to the implementation of this toll road project, we from the Hungarian government openly open discussions with related parties, and of course we have no intention of implementing this project only from our way, various offers that can be a positive agreement between the two parties. we will wait," said the youngest Ambassador.

The Hungarian Ambassador directly stated that the visit to KSP would be a positive step to be able to resolve the bottleneck problem of the Bali Mandara Toll Road project. Thus, the right solution in the completion of the contactless non-cash toll transaction project.

"We will immediately coordinate with Jasamarga soon and we will discuss further with Hungary," concluded Moeldoko.
