139 Bacaleg DPRD DKI Not Fulfilling Conditions, KPU Still Gives Political Parties Time To Fix

The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta Province has submitted the results of administrative verification of candidates for DPD and DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD after the period of validation of registration documents. As a result, as many as 25 candidates for DPD RI members for the electoral district (dapil) DKI Jakarta and 1,720 candidates for DKI Jakarta DPRD members will be declared eligible (MS). "Meanwhile, 139 candidates for DKI Jakarta DPRD members do not meet the requirements (TMS)," said DKI Jakarta KPU member Dody Wijaya when contacted, Monday, August 7. The DKI Jakarta KPU has determined 5 political parties (political parties) participating in the 2024 Legislative Election in Jakarta that have met 100 percent of the nomination requirements, namely the Gerindra, Golkar, Gelora, PKS, and PSI parties. Meanwhile, the other 13 political parties have not fully met the requirements. This is because there are still candidates for the DKI DPRD proposed by the political parties who are declared TMS. "Other parties outside the 5 parties there are still one or two candidates who do not meet the requirements. Minor, on average. However, the five parties that have entered have really met the requirements of all the legislators," said Dody. Dody explained that the KPU still gives political parties time to repair their candidate candidates' documents during the funeral period of the temporary candidate list (DCS) which will be held on August 6–11, 2023. "We provide services in the form of help desks for political parties to improve documents, or submit candidates, or change serial numbers, or transfer of candidates for candidates. It is still possible during the DCS funeral period from August 6 to 11," he explained.

After DCS' funeral period is complete, DCS announcement will be delivered by the KPU from 19 to 23 August 2023 and public input and response to DCS from 19 to 28 August 2023.
