Clashes Between Groups On Daan Mogot Street Led To Acts Of Robbery, Victims Were Hacked And Then Doused With Acid

TANGERANG – A brawl on Daan Mogot Street, Tangerang resulted in a robbery accompanied by violence. The victim who suffered a stab wound was powerless, so the perpetrators took away the victim's motorcycle and mobile phone.

The Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho explained. The clash occurred right in front of the Tanah Tinggi Gas Station, Tangerang City, Tuesday, July 22, at 04.30 WIB. The victims had the initials RNA (20) while the perpetrators numbered 4 people with the initials FJ (18), JK (18), MRS (21) and MRP (20).

Zain also said that the two warring groups had previously made promises on social media, to face each other for strength. After agreeing, they met at a predetermined location, in front of the Tanah Tinggi Gas Station.

Clashes could not be avoided. Each group attacks each other paralyzing their opponents with sharp weapons. Until finally, a member of one of the groups was cornered, then his opponent beat him with a sharp weapon and even with hard water.

"The victim suffered stab wounds to his head, nose and chest, blisters as a result of being splashed with sulfuric acid type of hard water," said Zain in his statement, Tuesday, August 1.

Apart from injuring the victim, continued Zain, the perpetrators stole the victim's motorcycle. The helpless victims were drenched in blood on the street, abandoned as they were.

"The victim's motorcycle and cell phone were also seized," he said

Police who received information immediately moved to arrest the perpetrators. Four of the six perpetrators were arrested by the police. The rest are still being chased by officers.

"Arrested in the Tanjung Duren area of West Jakarta, Cengkareng West Jakarta, South Tangerang City and Tangerang City. Two other perpetrators whose identities we already know are still being pursued," he said.

Now four perpetrators have been named suspects and charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code, Article 365 of the Criminal Code and Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 with a penalty of 12 years in prison.
